EPL 2016/17: West Ham United's Dimitri Payet hints at January exit
Dimitri Payet, discontent over the season start, has been hinting about his exit from West Ham in January. In an interview with Telefoot in France, Payet said, "We've had a very poor start. Leave in January? I'm asking other questions right now but I've closed the door to nothing."
But his new five-and-a-half-year deal worth £125,000 gives no sign of him leaving the club.
"Until now, I always chose my clubs depending on the sports project. I work like that. Until I can play at a level like this, it will be the case. Go to PSG or Marseille? For now, they have not come to me, so I do not ask myself," claimed the Frenchman.

The 29-year-old has missed most of this campaign because of injury, but he is ready to make a remarkable comeback. A fine player who hasn't been able to have a consistent run up with the team previously is expected to be fit and ready to play against Watford, according to manager Slaven Bilic.
Bilic has also stated that he will convince Dimitri Payet to stay at West Ham and also spoke about Payet’s value to the club.
However, the team's unimpressive performances this season is a major concern for Payet.
The 29-year-old has played 11 matches in total and has scored 1 goal in each of the Premier League and the League Cup this season. However, his absence, for the most part, has left his side floundering in 17th place in the league.
The Hammers have played 11 matches, and have claimed all 3 points on only 3 occasions with 2 draws and 6 defeats. They need to buck up and hone their skills to make a remarkable comeback this season.
Payet was in fine form in the Euros for France and Bilic will be hoping that he can recapture some of that form. The Frenchman netted thrice for France in the competition and according to him, his proudest moment came when he scored in France’s 5-2 win over Iceland in the quarterfinals.
The Hammers had an impressive last season wherein they finished 7th in the League table and qualified for the UEFA Europa League and Slaven Bilic’s side will be looking to replicate it this season.
