What Harry Kane must do to match Messi and Ronaldo
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the greatest footballers of all time.
They have been far superior to every other player in the last 10 years and are unmatched by anyone currently playing the beautiful game.
The rivals have played at an incredible level as seen by their domination of individual awards for the past 10 years.
Some young stars are beginning to attain great heights in their careers and are being tipped to compete with the fantastic duo.
One of these players is Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.
Kane has been in the best form of his career, playing at an incredible level for the past few years.
He has claimed the Premier League's top scorer award for consecutive seasons and has also helped Tottenham Hotspurs qualify for the UEFA Champions League twice in a row, a feat which is not a norm for Spurs.
His feats have drawn comparisons with the dynamic duo of Messi & Ronaldo with some outlandish claims that Kane has reached their level.
While it is true that the Spurs attacker has been exceptional, he has a long way to go before he can even begin to think of matching Messi and Ronaldo.
Improve His Game
Harry Kane has been brilliant for the past three seasons averaging 30+ goals per season but he will need to do more in terms of goals, assists and overall contributions if he wants to be mentioned in the Messi/Ronaldo conversation.
Messi and Ronaldo have been doing unreal numbers for a while now averaging 40+ goals & 20+ assists every season.
This is the new normal and for Kane to earn the right to be named alongside the peerless duo, he needs to emulate the statistics of these stars.
Consistency
Messi & Ronaldo have been at it for the best part of a decade, for Kane to get to the level of these two, he needs to do it for at least another 5-8 years.
Messi and Ronaldo have been dedicated and in addition to their natural abilities, they have improved on their weaknesses and are now at the peak of their powers.
Therefore Harry Kane needs to maintain a high level of performance every season, scoring goals, breaking records and firing his team to glory.
Change of Club
Despite the expensive outlay on transfers and salaries by English sides, they have been lacking behind La Liga in the individual awards stake; Ballon d'Or, #TheBest, FIFPRO XI & others.
For Kane to become truly elite, he will have to move to a bigger club either in England or on the continent.
Real Madrid has been rumoured to be tracking him as a potential replacement for Karim Benzema and with Cristiano's Real career entering the twilight years and Gareth Bale's long-term stay in doubt, Kane could become the new galactico.
