What is going on at Chelsea?

I thought I would write a blog post this afternoon based on a few updates that have appeared in recent days rather than write individual posts. I am going to give my view on Josh McEachran, Wayne Rooney, Hilario, Juan Mata, David Luiz and Inter Milan tonight!

Josh McEachran: A move to Spain on the cards?

We have all seen the latest updates this morning linking McEachran with a loan move to Real Sociedad in La Liga. Now I have to admit this one came out of the blue after reading “reports” that Middlesborough had turned down the chance to re-sign him for this coming season.

I personally think that if this move happens it would be a fantastic opportunity for Josh provided he is given first team football and doesn’t spend most of the time on the bench.

We all look at his ability with the ball and can see his potential but with so many people in front of him and Van Ginkel being brought in a few weeks ago, it seems that Chelsea are still uncertain of his future.

Fingers crossed for Josh that firstly the move happens and secondly, he is able to showcase his ability with regular first team football to give Chelsea a reminder of exactly how good he can be!

Wayne Rooney: £35-40m WILL seal the deal for Mourinho!

Rooney – is he coming?

The whole Wayne Rooney situation is ongoing and will drag on right up to the last moments of the transfer window. With confirmation that an initial bid being rejected, the latest reports are that Chelsea are prepared to pay around £35-40m for Rooney. It’s believed that Rooney wants to join Mourinho at Chelsea and United WILL sell him, but only after we have played each other before the transfer window closes.

I still personally believe that Rooney would be a fantastic signing and would be what Eidur Gudjohnsen was to Mourinho and his team shape first time around. If you read other posts I have written recently, you will see I have championed the move for Rooney and I firmly believe we will get him.

However, £35-40m is a lot of money!

Hilario: New one year contract – what about Jamal Blackman?

We have confirmation today that Hilario has signed a new one year contract to stay at Chelsea for his seventh year at the club and will be used as our number three behind Petr Cech and new signing Mark Schwarzer.

Now I have to admit I am surprised at the news as I would have though Jamal Blackman would have been moved into the first team squad as number three.

What does this mean for Blackman? I am not so sure but the news today with Hilario could indicate a loan move for the big man this season..
