Who is the most decorated player in the Premier League?
There are several players in the Premier Leauge who have won awards in most of Europe’s top competitions, but which player has won the most awards amongst the current ones? Here, we take a look at the Premier League players who have been there and done that.
Due to the difference in competition standards in European football, we are only considering the awards won in the best tournaments. So, the trophies won by the current Premier League players for clubs in the top 5 countries (England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France) and their respective countries are counted.
Victor Valdes, who is yet to make an appearance for Manchester United, has won the most number of trophies in top flight football out of the current Premie League players. The player gained all of his silverware during his time at Barcelona and with Spain. John Terry is second in the list, two winners’ medals behind the Spaniard.
Legends like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba feature in the list as well. It would be surprising for some that a Leicester City player features in the top 3 of the list, but the main in question – Esteban Cambiasso – has had spells with top clubs like Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Former Barcelona starlet Bojan is the youngest player in the list with 7 trophies, but it remains unlikely that he will be able to add to that tally with his current club Stoke City.
