Why Chelsea should sell Cesc Fabregas to AC Milan
AC Milan have reportedly been in talks with Cesc Febregas' agent, and could launch a move for the midfielder. The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and Chelsea can’t risk losing him on a free transfer.
According to The Mirror, the Spaniard is eyeing a move out of London in order to get more time on the field. Fabregas is an exceptional talent whose vision on the pitch is like none other. The Rossoneri are currently short in the heart of midfield due to injury problems, and the signing of Fabregas could bring the limelight back to the San Siro.
Gattuso is still lacking quality in midfield, as they are short of creative players who can manipulate the ball. This is where the Spaniard will become handy, picking up the right passes and turning defense into attack.
He would be a line between chaos and calm, controlling the pace of the game. Fabregas has won the Premier League title twice with Chelsea after joining from Barcelona in 2014.
Fabregas has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, and has only made 9 appearances under Maurizio Sarri this season. The former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder was out with a knee injury at the start of the season, and was an unused substitute in 4 league matches, before making his first appearance in the competition this term against Burnley, coming off the bench in the 78th minute.
Chelsea will be looking to sell him off for a decent price, as his contract is set to expire in the summer. His chances of making it into the starting XI looks bleaker with the evolution of Ross Barkley and Loftus-Cheek. Jorginho has claimed the centre of the field at Stamford Bridge, with Kante and Kovacic beside him.
The Spanish magician is a treat to watch when he gets going. He not only provides assists to his fellow teammates, but can also score some screamers himself. His movement with the ball and through balls are a nightmare for defenders.
He plays as a box-to-box midfielder who can trouble the opposition with his accurate passing, tremendous vision, and knack for scoring crucial goals. Milan will try to get him desperately in the January transfer window in order to strengthen their squad under Gattuso.
Maurizio Sarri would be ready to negotiate with the Italian side in order to make way for younger talents. Fabregas is a seasoned campaigner who has won almost everything in world football. He will be a great asset for Milan, and will look to make his mark in Italy as he did in England and Spain.
