We will show our quality: Mumbai City FC Assistant Coach, Oscar Bruzon
Mumbai City FC are all set to play their first home game of this season’s Hero Indian Super League (ISL) against Marco Materazzi’s Chennaiyin FC at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, October 16, 2015.
Mumbai City FC go into the game against a resurgent Chennaiyin outfit winless and on the back of a 0-0 draw against Kerala Blasters in Kochi. But after starting their campaign on the road, Mumbai City FC will be hoping to get their first win of the season as they enjoy home comforts against a Chennaiyin FC whose recent exploits on the road have sent shockwaves around the country.
It promises to be an intriguing battle between two sides which are looking to launch their campaigns and Mumbai City FC’s assistant coach, Oscar Bruzon believes his side’s first home game provides them with a perfect chance to show what they are made off.
“The game against Chennaiyin FC is the first time we will introduce ourselves to the city and to the fans this season and it’s a perfect chance to show our quality and what Mumbai City FC is capable of,” sounded a determined Mumbai City FC assistant coach.
Our performances so far have not been bad: Bruzon
The Spaniard was not too miffed with Mumbai City FC’s performances in their first two games and felt his side gelled quite well but couldn’t do enough to get the six points which they aimed at.
“Our team gelled quite well in the first two games and made good transitions on the field. But that wasn’t enough to get us the six points that we had aimed at, but we accept the result and move forward,” added Bruzon.
Mumbai City FC will be able to welcome back the Indian trio of Sunil Chhetri, Subrata Pal and Lalchhuanmawia Fanai who returned from International duty with India and the Mumbai City FC number two was pleased to have them back.
“Sunil, Pal and Fanai are back with us and we are happy to have them. We know the qualities that they bring to the team and having them back certainly makes us stronger,” claimed the former Sporting Club de Goa Head Coach Oscar Bruzon, who was speaking at the pre-match press conference.
Time to deliver on expectations
Oscar Bruzon though stressed on delivering the goods in tomorrow’s game against Chennaiyin FC as he felt it was time for his team to show how good they are.
“We have had all the right preparations to the summer and followed that up with a good pre-season. But now things have got serious and we want to show the results of our hard work. I feel we are well placed to take the three points from tomorrow’s game and all that is needed is to perform and show to the world how good we are,” said a bullish Oscar Bruzon.
Mumbai City play five consecutive home games and it’s evident that Mumbai City FC’s season hinges on what they achieve in these five games in the next fifteen days.
