WWE Chairman Vince McMahon interested in buying EPL club Newcastle United

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has been sniffing around Newcastle United for a while now

Reports of World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon‘s high interest in taking over the ownership of English Premier League side Newcastle United FC from owner Mike Ashley have been surfacing the internet.

Newcastle’s current owner Mike Ashley has been looking to sell his club from a long time, and even though there has been no official bid made yet, McMahon is suggested to be very keen in the club as he sees this a perfect opportunity to expand his brand into the United Kingdom.

Winner Sports have confirmed the reports as they stated in their website:

A top Newcastle United source told Winner Sports: “Vince McMahon has been sniffing around the club and seems keen on pursuing his interest.

“He sees England as an untapped market for his wrestling empire. He has even indicated he could put on wrestling bouts at St James’s Park

“Obviously it is very early days but there is hope the fans may get what they want with Ashley leaving. Buying a club like Newcastle would throw him into the spotlight in England which is just what he is looking to do.”

Although it is still early stages, but a takeover by the American entrepreneur can boost both the club and company stature.
