YATR: The Ref Show - Did Jose Mourinho overstep his mark?
You are the Ref, now an official partner with Sportskeeda, discuss the refereeing over the weekend across England, apart from Jose Mourinho's reaction to refereeing in the Chelsea match, in their latest episode of the The Ref Show, as they round up all the matches from the Premier League.
There was plenty of controversy over the weekend, with a number of derbies across England providing the majority of the drama. The Wear-Tyne derby was settled in controversial fashion, after Robert Madley's decision to send off Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini and award Sunderland a penalty for a foul on Steven Fletcher.
Managers, players, pundits and fans all saw the version of events differently, but there was no doubt over which way Magpies boss Steve McClaren was leaning. And it was Chelsea who provided the main talking points on Saturday, with red cards, offsides and even goal-line technology leaving the Blues frustrated.
Jose Mourinho definitely took exception to all that happened in the match against West Ham, with the Portuguese manager sent to the stands during the interval for his outburst directed at referee Jon Moss. The Chelsea boss refused to leave the referee's room at half-time and directed abusive comments at Moss. He could be potentially facing a stadium ban after being charged with misconduct.
The other contentious decision took place in the match between Sunderland and Newcastle at the Stadium of Light, as Coloccini was sent off for a foul on Fletcher. The resulting penalty was converted by Adam Johnson and the struggling Mackems used that as a springboard to go on and achieve their first win of the Premier League season. Newcastle, who had just won their first match the previous week, continued their horrible run of form against their rivals.
