Video: No Manchester City players in Yaya Toure's ultimate 5-a-side team

Toure’s selection isn’t going to be popular among Manchester City fans

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has named his 5-a-side dream team on Manchester City’s official website, but surprisingly his selection doesn’t include a single name from his current club.

City have made a perfect start of the new season as Manuel Pellegrini’s men have acquired all nine points from their first three games. And Toure has looked sharp in these fixtures alongside his team mates with whom he has spent a significant part of his career since joining from Barcelona in 2010.

However, when picking his ultimate team of five players, the Ivorian preferred his former club mates ahead of names like David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Joe Hart and others.

Of course, Barcelona’s mercurial forward Lionel Messi made it into his side as one of the obvious names. The defensive pair he chose comprises of a couple of more ex-Blaugrana players in the form of Carles Puyol and Rafael Marquez.

Cameroon legend and yet another former Barca forward Samuel Eto’o also made the grade which concludes the Barca-themed selection that 32-year-old midfielder has opted for. The last selection is an interesting one and it’s in the form of his national teammate Jean-Jacques Tizie. The Ivory Coast goalkeeper has never played outside of Africa but is deserving according to Toure.

Interesting selections indeed considering there are no City players with whom he has won two Premier League medals. Here’s Toure talking about his 5-a-side team.
