Yohan Cabaye can fulfill his World cup dreams at Newcastle, says David Ginola

David Ginola has said that Yohan Cabaye’s chances of playing for France in the world cup won’t be hampered if he stays at Newcastle. Cabaye was linked with a move to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain but eventually failed to secure a move away from St. James Park.

“He wants to be back in the national team but I think it will be the same if he does well for Newcastle. He will get a recall from Didier Deschamps because he is a very good player,” said Ginola.

“Everybody knows that in France. He just needs to have some good performances for Newcastle and after that he will have his recall. That’s for sure,” he added.

Ginola also said that it is not easy for players to move to another country and settle quickly like he did back in 1995 when he move from PSG to England.

“Sometimes you don’t feel right when you are playing too far away from your home. I had some really good friends in football who couldn’t go too far away from their homes. Playing in England is another story so you have to be very strong, mentally, physically. Things are quite tough,” Ginola added.
