Zabaleta hopes Messi signs for Manchester City someday
Manchester city full back, Pablo Zabaleta has said that he is hopeful about playing alongside Argentina companion Lionel Messi at the club in the future.
“In the dressing room we wrote “Messi” on one of the lockers just in case. It’s still empty if he wants it,” said Zabaleta recalling the day the club landed Robinho in an interview given to Daily Mail.
Zabaleta, who has been at the club for five years, also said about his friendship with former players Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.
“Carlos is doing well and he has scored a few goals. To be honest, he is a great player and I really miss him as a striker”, he said.
“I saw Mario on TV and he is playing fantastic for Milan so I’m really happy for him. He is a great player. He needs to focus because, if he does, he can become one of the best,” he added.
Zabaleta, the player of the year at the club last season, recently signed a new contract and has earned himself a title of cult hero at the club.
