Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I am the world's best player
“In my head I am the strongest of all. I certainly don’t need the Ballon d’Or to prove that I am number one.”
The shortlist for the Ballon d’Or award was reduced to 3 men earlier today and it was no surprise to see the names with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernandez being nominated for it. Messi appears to be the favorite to retain the award and Ibrahimovic sees no reason why he should not be considered as one.
“Messi is very strong and I hope he continues in that way”, Ibrahimovic told Telefoot.
“He has won almost everything and is still very young.”
Opinions on the potential winner is currently divided between Ronaldo and Messi, but the Argentine appears to have the edge in a a bid to retain his title. But both players were phenomenal for their clubs last season and have been continuing their red hot form this season too. The winner of the Ballon d’Or award is expected to be announced in early January. But Ibra has left no stone unturned to have his say in the matter.
