"Are you f***ing good?" pros outraged by last-minute nerf of Slurp Cacti before Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 Grand Finals
Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 is nearing its conclusion, and the community is beyond excited. However, just a day before the Major 3 Grand Finals begins, Epic Games nerfed Slurp Cacti to the ground temporarily. This change has outraged the game's competitive community.
As of today (July 26, 2024), the Slurp Cacti will not respawn after being destroyed. This nerf is temporary and will revert after July 29. This was announced via the official Fortnite updates account @FortniteStatus on X.
The Fortnite competitive community is hugely disappointed, as this update will majorly affect the playstyle of various pros. Note that the Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 Grand Finals start on July 27 and will conclude the next day.
While the official post doesn't indicate the reason behind implementing this change and that too only for three days, it's safe to assume this has happened keeping the upcoming Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 Grand Finals in mind.
Slurp Cacti are found in the desert biome of the Chapter 5 Season 3 map and are used to give 30 health or shield instantly on hitting the plant with a pickaxe. It used to respawn at the same location every 15 seconds and for an unlimited number of times. After the recent adjustment, once a Slurp Cactus is used, it won't respawn in the same area.
Lennard "rezon ay" Sill, one of the highest-earning Fortnite pros from the EU region, angrily commented:
"Are you f****ng good?"
Hundreds of comments were recorded within an hour on the post by @FortniteStatus, many were from popular Fortnite pros who have qualified for the Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 Grand Finals.
Meanwhile, popular Fortnite pros like @Setty2k_ and @SvenSE_ left a rather sarcastic comment on the post.

The Fortnite FNCS 2024: Major 3 Grand Finals is the last big online event in the game this year. It will start on Jul 27 and features a prize pool of $1.85 million, which will be distributed among all the regions in the following manner:
- Europe - $880,000
- North America - $650,000
- Asia - $80,000
- Middle East - $80,000
- Brazil - $80,000
- Oceania - $65,000
