Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes: New cosmetics, Super Styles, Mythic, and more
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes are out. The first major update of the Marvel-themed season of Absolute Doom drops on September 4, 2024, and will introduce tons of new features and items based on the overarching Marvel theme. The downtime for the update will begin around 4 am ET, with matchmaking being disabled thirty minutes before that.
Marvel is a major theme this season. As such, the upcoming update is set to incorporate a host of new content related to it, with rumors suggesting a fresh Limited Time Mode is on its way. LEGO Fortnite could also see a major overhaul and might even bring back the beloved Klombos.
Here are the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes: Everything we know so far
Shuri's Claws Mythic
One of the upcoming update's highlights could be the Shuri Claws Mythic, which was teased in the Chapter 5 Season 4 Absolute Doom trailer. It will be based on the popular character from the Black Panther universe and will allow players to power forward and rip opponents to shreds.
These claws are subtly reminiscent of Wolverine's Claws seen in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4, in the previous Marvel-themed season.
Return of Marvel LTM
Recent Fortnite leaks hint at the return of the popular Marvel LTM or Limited Time Mode, similar to the event seen in Marvel Takeover in 2020. The Takeover event featured all players spawning with superpowers, and the goal was to capture objectives as well as complete a progress bar.
Similarly, the upcoming Marvel LTM supposedly allows players to choose between heroes and villains, allotting powers and weapons accordingly. This would be interesting as this season contains powerful heroes such as Captain Jonesy, Peelverine, and Gwenpool. These characters are challenged by villains such as Doctor Doom, Mysterio, and Emma Frost in Chapter 5 Season 4. They could make this LTM an exciting experience.
Doctor Doom rewards reveal
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes suggest that Epic Games will finally reveal the much anticipated Doctor Doom's reward track for the Battle Pass. He is the leading antagonist this season, and his menacing demeanor has made him an instant favorite.
The reward track will include Doctor Doom's Outfit as well as a host of cosmetics-related to the maestro of menace. The second page of the reward track could also feature an alt-style for Doom, similar to the Super Styles included in the coming update.
Super Styles
According to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes, Super Styles for the current Battle Pass Outfits will arrive in the upcoming update. The game consistently rewards players with Super Styles or Progressive styles that are unlocked as part of the bonuses or additional rewards beyond the standard Outfits found till level 100.
Also known as Enlightened Styles, these variants add unique touches to the regular Outfit and make them even more coveted. The arrival of Super Styles has accentuated the current Outfits, elevating the already well-crafted cosmetics and giving them a complete facelift.
New cosmetics and collaborations
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes also suggest the arrival of new cosmetics, with the Disney D23 event opening the gate for a bunch of content related to franchises such as Avatar and Cars to make their way to the game. The update will also grant players the Free Sir Beurre Back Bling, a cosmetic that was recently mired in controversy.
Additionally, there could be more collaborations such as the recent Fortnite X VicBlends Icon Series Emote. Epic Games is notorious for picking up on trends and popular pop culture references, so many new cosmetic items could make their way to the FN Item Shop.
Vaults/Unvaults in Battle Royale and Reload
According to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.10 update) early patch notes, numerous weapons could be vaulted and unvaulted in Battle Royale and/or Reload mode. Additionally, many could see further balancing or nerfs following complaints from users who classified certain firearms as "overkill."
The early patch notes also hint at the possibility of more OG weapons being added in Fortnite Reload, expanding the already vast pool of firearms and items in the popular game mode.
