Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup: Start date, how to participate, and rewards
Epic Games has announced the Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup, a tournament giving players a chance to win free cosmetic items. This tournament is a tribute to popular streamer Rubén "El Rubius" Doblas Gundersen's contributions to Fortnite's popularity. Rubius is the most subscribed Spanish YouTuber and was the first-ever streamer to surpass 1 million live viewers on Twitch, in 2018.

Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup details
Start date
The Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup will start on September 21, 2024. The tournament will be playable in all the regions available in the game: Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, and Brazil.
How to participate
Here are the steps to participate in the Rubius Icon Cup:
- Head on to the "Compete" tab in the top menu bar.
- Navigate to the "Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup" banner.
- Check the timing mentioned in your local Time Zone.
- The "Participate" button appears roughly five minutes before the event starts.
- Do not forget to get "Ready" and start the match manually.
Tournament eligibility
The Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup is an open-for-all Zero Build tournament that has no rank requirements. However, there are a few basic requirements:
- Your account should be at least at Level 15.
- Two Two-factor authentication must be on.
- You must be 13 years or older.
Tournament structure
The duration of the tournament will be three hours, in which teams can play up to 10 Zero Build matches. The point system works as follows:
- 1st: 70 points
- 2nd: 60 points
- 3rd: 56 points
- 4th: 52 points
- 5th: 48 points
- 6th: 44 points
- 7th: 40 points
- 8th: 38 points
- 9th: 36 points
- 10th: 34 points
- 11th: 32 points
- 12th: 30 points
- 13th: 28 points
- 14th: 26 points
- 15th: 24 points
- 16th: 22 points
- 17th: 20 points
- 18th: 18 points
- 19th: 16 points
- 20th: 14 points
- 21st: 12 points
- 22nd: 10 points
- 23rd: 8 points
- 24th: 6 points
- 25th: 4 points
- Each elimination: 4 points
Fortnite Rubius Icon Cup rewards
The top 200 duos from all the regions will be rewarded with the Rubius Bundle that includes: Rubius Outfit, Wilson Back Bling, Moon Flame Pickaxe, and Flamitas de Kevin Wrap. Additionally, they will also be rewarded with E-meow-ticon Emoticon and Limonada Emoticon. Duos that score at least eight points in the event will be rewarded with the SquareKat Spray.
The Rubius Bundle is set to be released in the Fortnite Item Shop soon. The winners of this tournament will get their hands on this new Icon Series Bundle before anyone else.
