“Got to be an oversight”: Community reacts to player’s mishap with Mythic Goldfish in Fortnite Reload
Fortnite Reload has been making a lot of noise within the community, with players exploring and enjoying Epic Games' latest OG experience filled with classic elements in a brand-new, fast-paced mode. One of the many OG elements reintroduced in the Reload mode is the Mythic Goldfish, the one-in-a-million item that only has a 0.8% of being found in chests and holds the power to one-shot players.
While the Mythic Goldfish's return to Fortnite Reload has been celebrated by many, it seems like it still needs a few tweaks to make it properly viable in the mode. This is highlighted in a recent Reddit clip shared by u/cereal_killah_1980, where the player can be seen in a Zero Build Fortnite Reload match, donning the Deadpool Outfit and using the rare Mythic Goldfish to eliminate an enemy. However, despite making contact, the enemy was able to survive and eliminate the player.
The enemy player left standing even after getting hit by the Mythic Goldfish's one-shot power was due to the Tactical Overshield in the Zero Build mode. Opining that this is likely something that developers missed when designing Fortnite Reload, Redditor u/JohnBrine stated:
"Got to be an oversight."
Other members of the community took to the comments to express their opinions on the Mythic Goldfish in Fortnite Reload. u/Brickinahouse highlighted the reason behind the clip, explaining how the Mythic Goldfish was designed in Chapter 2, a time when there was no overshield or Zero Build. Reddit user u/____person___ further reinforced this point, claiming how Epic Games probably never thought about overshield in Chapter 2.
Meanwhile, Redditor u/lemon6611 expressed how this is the reason they play normal Battle Royale and not Zero Build, citing the 250 health that players possess in the mode. u/All-Fired-Up91, on the other hand, revealed how they went on a spree of 10+ kills after finding out the Mythic Goldfish was a one-shot in Build mode.
Why the Mythic Goldfish needs to change in Fortnite Reload
As highlighted by the Reddit clip, the current state of the Mythic Goldfish does not seem viable for the Zero Build mode in Fortnite Reload. When it comes to the question of changes, the answer seems quite simple. Epic Games needs to buff the damage of the Mythic Goldfish to 250 or more, making it viable in Zero Build.
Since the item is already a one-shot in regular Battle Royale, this buff should not impact the Mythic Goldfish's performance in that mode.
