"I'm sick of seeing the fncs skins": Community is frustrated with repetition of Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics
The Fortnite Item Shop is one of the most integral aspects of the game, with the storefront bringing players a constantly changing list of items to purchase and add to their in-game library. However, while its offerings are exciting, the cosmetics being featured in the shop have grown repetitive over the last few months, and players have taken notice.
This is highlighted in a recent Reddit clip shared by u/JesusisLord_-, who drew attention to a recent Item Shop rotation, where Epic Games released the exact same set of cosmetics that were featured a couple of weeks ago, such as the Snow Striker Outfit and the Birds of a Feather Bundle.
The player claimed that Epic Games has not only stopped breaking the pattern of similar cosmetics but has even started copying the exact Item Shop listings from a few days ago.
The Reddit post ignited a flurry of reactions from the Fortnite community, with user u/timc_720 pointing out their frustration with FNCS skins like Champion Stash'd:

Other members of the community had their own reactions to the Fortnite Item Shop situation, with Redditor u/GoldenYellowPup expressing their dissatisfaction and suggesting that the Item Shop cosmetics are being determined by artificial intelligence.
u/ZTOOZJEWISHZ highlighted how they don't feel excited about the Fortnite Item Shop refreshes.
Meanwhile, Redditor u/VoiceOfBrando drew attention to the Birds of a Feather Bundle and how it was already featured in the game a few days ago.
u/Brunoaraujoespin, on the other hand, pointed out how skins like the Aloy Outfit are nowhere to be seen while the same skins keep getting recycled in the Fortnite Item Shop.
Why does the Fortnite Item Shop seem so repetitive now?
While it is clear that members of the community are frustrated with the way Epic Games is handling the Fortnite Item Shop as of late, there is no way to definitively answer why there is such repetitiveness with the shop. There are some theories regarding the new modes like LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival playing a role in the limited cosmetic offerings.
However, this has not been confirmed by Epic Games, with the only credible source coming from Ali-A. For now, players hope to see changes with the Item Shop so that they can have a larger variety of skins to choose from when spending their V-Bucks.
