With Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 only a few days away from launch, Epic Games is not holding back with the teasers and hints regarding the upcoming season. The latest teaser features none other than Peelverine, the Wolverine variant that was featured in the Absolute Doom trailer and is confirmed to be included in the Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass.

That said, the new teaser suggests that there might be more to Peelverine than meets the eye in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. While it is easy to look at Peelverine and think of him as one of Fortnite’s classic amalgamations with an established character, it seems like Peelverine might be a variant from the Marvel multiverse rather than a simple combination.

In the caption accompanying the Peelverine teaser for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic Games made a reference to something called Nanamantium. Fans of Marvel would know that Adamantium is the material that was used to coat Wolverine's skeleton in the comics and the movies.

This tells us that Peelverine could be from a universe where everyone is a humanoid banana, with Peelverine's skeleton being coated with Nanamantium instead of Adamantium. This is only further emphasized by the presence of the X-Men branding in the top left corner of the teaser, suggesting that the character is more than just a combination in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.

Be that as it may, while it makes for a cute easter egg, this small detail might have larger implications in the future. Since Peelverine can potentially be seen as a Wolverine variant rather than just the Peely skin in a Wolverine outfit, it suggests that Chapter 5 Season 4 will pull different versions of the featured heroes from the multiverse rather than just their base version.

This is further added to by the presence of Captain Jonesy, a skin that seems to be Captain America with a look that bears a heavy resemblance to Jonesy. While this is largely based on speculation, if confirmed, it could pave the way for Fortnite x Marvel characters to show up in Marvel Comics later down the line.
