Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 theme teased by Epic Games co-founder
With Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 right around the corner, Epic Games has seemingly started the rollout for the upcoming saga for the follow-up to the post-apocalyptic saga. As is tradition with every new season, Epic Games co-founder and vice president Mark Rein has hinted at the theme for the upcoming season.
Mark Rein has revealed that his one-liner in-game description for Chapter 5 Season 4 is "Absolute." While this does not reveal much about the upcoming season immediately, it could tie into what has been previously leaked and rumored about Chapter 5 Season 4.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4's Absolute theme could tie into Doctor Doom
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 has been largely hinted at being another season that revolves around the Marvel universe and its vast array of characters. Doctor Doom, along with other names like Gwenpool and Susan Storm, are likely to make an appearance in the Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass. These skins, especially Doctor Doom, could potentially tie into Mark Rein's new hint.
Doctor Doom, for those who don't know, can be seen as the ultimate big bad in the Marvel Universe, with the character having been successful in his world-conquering missions on multiple occasions. As such, Doctor Doom is no stranger to absolute power. While this may seem like a stretch, Epic Games has a reputation for respecting characters' history, regardless of where they are from.
Given how Doctor Doom is always on the lookout for absolute power, Chapter 5 Season 4 ties in with him effortlessly. However, that's not all as Absolute could also be hinting at absolute control of the Battle Royale Island. The Wanderer has been lurking around the Island for the better part of Chapter 5 Season 3, and given how Doctor Doom might be The Wanderer, it is possible that Mark Rein's hint ties into that as well.
When will Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 be released?
Based on information in-game, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is set to be released on August 15, 2024, at 11:00 PM ET. While the season was originally slated to launch on August 16, 2024, at 2:00 AM ET, Epic Games has pushed the release forward and will be bringing the season.
The update will not only add the brand new Battle Royale season but also a new Festival season, which is likely to feature a Fortnite Festival x Karol G collaboration for the Season 5 Festival Pass.
