Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes: LEGO Klombo Lost Isles update, Day Of Doom LTM, and more

For those interested in knowing what tomorrow's update may hold, the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes will shed some light. As always, Epic Games has not shared everything that you can expect to see in-game once downtime ends. However, there are a few official and unofficial hints that have been floating about social media.

As per the information available via the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, Klombo is returning. These majestic creatures will be once more free to roam the island and vacuum up things in the path. Remember not to shoot at them, as they will retaliate when agitated.

There is also some information about a new Day Of Doom LTM that will be released on September 17, 2024, alongside the (v31.20 update). Epic Games has not shared much information, but the community has a good idea of what to expect thanks to leakers/data-miners. Here are more about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes: Everything we know so far

LEGO Klombo and the Lost Isles update

Klombo has been the beating heart of the community back in Chapter 3. When the war broke out in Chapter 3 Season 2, these gentle giants went extinct due to heavy shelling. The Seven prevailed and defeated the Imagined Order and Geno (The Ageless) but at the cost of these creatures being lost in that reality.

After two years, they are now set to make their debut in the LEGO Lost Isles update. Klombos will be added to the mode and you will be able to find them in existing LEGO Fortnite seeds as well. This means you will not have to scrap your current build. That said, the same cannot be said for structures that may get distorted once the update goes live.

Aside from Klombo, there will be a lot of new content coming according to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes. Here is a complete list of what you can expect to see:

New LEGO Klombo Lost Isles Biomes

Thanks to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, we know there will be five new Biomes being added. They are:

  • Beach - The Beach Biome is a great place to pursue relaxation, but it is also where you will find Pirates landlubbin’ in and out of Pirate Towns.
  • Plains - The Plains are home to the Peely Tribe. They are friendly and need all the help they can get to drive back the pillaging pirates and other lurking foes.
  • Jungle - The Jungle is a lush biome with helpful plants like Hop Flowers that make you bounce, Slurp Plants that will heal you, and damaging Bomb and Stink Flowers that can help you defend yourself. You will need them to hold your own against Storm-Wild Tomatoes.

  • Floating Islands - Floating Islands act as a great compass for your travels. It is a challenging biome to traverse, in which you will encounter critters that will offer rewards you won't find anywhere else once you defeat them. To get to these Floating Islands, find a geyser to glide up here, or maybe just build some stairs

Speaking of new content, thanks to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, we know that new vehicles will be coming as well. One of them will be an Airship, which will allow you to take to the sky and move across terrain impeded.

The other vehicle coming is called a Crusher tank. Not much is known about it. However, given the name, it would seem that this would be an all-terrain vehicle capable of smashing through structures with ease. At the moment, it is unclear if it will have any mounted weapons.

Fortnite Battle Royale

Unlike the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes for LEGO, these are mostly from leakers/data-miners. As such, they may not come to pass initially or at all. Here are some of the things to look out for in the upcoming update:

Iron Man Mythics and Stark/War Machine Armories

Iron Man is rumored to be making a comeback in Chapter 5 Season 4. As such, Mythics belonging to this enigmatic character could be added to the loot pool. Aside from his iconic weapons, Stark/War Machine Armories may be featured as well.

Once these massive drop-pods land, you will be able to enter them and claim weapons that are present within. Think of this as a Supply Drop, just more massive.

Day Of Doom LTM

As per the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes provided by Epic Games, it can be confirmed that a new LTM will be coming. The name of this LTM is Day Of Doom.

There will be 32 players in total, split into two teams. One team will have to collect all six Arcane Artifacts, while the other will have to try to stop them. If Doom's team manages to collect all six Arcane Artifacts, players on Team Avenger will lose the ability to respawn. When all players have been eliminated, Team Doom wins.

On the flip side, if Team Avenger manages to eliminate all of Team Doom's players and deplete their reinforcements, they will win.

However, this will be easier said than done as Team Doom will likely have access to some powerful weapons in their arsenal. To even things out, Team Avengers will also be bringing some serious firepower to level the playing field. Mythics from Fortnite Chapter 2 will be added to the loot pool.

That said, the LTM should go live as soon as the Fortnite downtime today (September 17, 2024) comes to an end.

Iron Man Mark 45 skin

If having a dedicated LTM for Doom and The Avengers is not enough to create a buzz, Epic Games decided to toss in a new Iron Man skin as well. This version of the skin is the Mark 45 and was featured in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

Compared to the OG Tony Stark skin in Fortnite, this is much more sleek and stylish. That said, Epic Games is yet to showcase the price of the skin, but leakers/data-miners suggest that it could cost roughly 1,500 V-Bucks. The Bundle will cost roughly 2,500 V-Bucks and contain the Outfit, an Instrument for Fortnite Festival, Back Bling, a Pickaxe, and a Wrap.

Rubius Icon Series skin

Thanks to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, we also know Rubén Doblas Gunderse better known as Rubius, is set to get his very own Icon Series skin in Fortnite. The streamer live-streamed the reveal to show the community exactly what they'll get when the cosmetics go live. They include an Outfit with a Selectable Style, Back Bling, and Pickaxe.

The Back Bling has also become a major talking point as it features Rubius' cat Wilson, wearing a tiny bandana. Its tabby appearance makes it look rather similar to the feline who is the main protagonist in Stray. Based on Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, there will also be a tournament themed around Rubius' debut in Fortnite. It will go live on September 22, 2024.

Bug Fixes

Based on the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes, we know of a few bug fixes that will go live once downtime ends. Here is the list:

  • Built-In Emotes do not play in Creative / UEFN Experiences.
  • Unintended loud noise when driving Beskar.
  • Players cannot switch from the 1st to the 5th Inventory slot on the controller.
  • Pickaxes may not deal any damage on hit.
  • The bottom of the HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.
  • Structures do not visually show that they are affected by B.A.S.E. perk.

In conclusion, that's about all we know based on Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.20 update) early patch notes. Epic Games will reveal everything once the downtime comes to an end.
