Fortnite Chapter 6 leak suggests upcoming Forest Biome will have unique mechanics
According to the latest Fortnite Chapter 6 leak brought to light by leaker Wensoing, and re-shared by veteran leaker HYPEX, the upcoming Forest Biome will be dynamic in nature (quite literally). It has the potential to be one of the most complex things Epic Games implements next Season. Here is everything we know thus far.
Fortnite Chapter 6 leak suggests the Forest Biome will feature a Day/Night mechanic
Wensoing suggested that the Forest Biome will have a "Day/Night Mechanic." Based on the time of day, different animals and/or NPCs will spawn. Nothing like this has ever been featured in-game. For as long as NPCs and Wildlife have been part of the title, they have spawned in fixed locations and/or within certain areas. The time of day has never affected anything.

As such, this will be the first time that a biome reacts to the time of day more than just in terms of lighting, but as a mechanic itself. It will be very interesting to see how this plays into the overall gameplay mechanics.
If rideable Wildlife is added back to the game, perhaps different types will be available for players to tame at different times of the day. The same could apply to Specialist NPCs that could be up for hire. Different types of Specialists could appear at different times of the day. This would give players options to choose from.
The possibility of upcoming wildlife being cat-like animals releasing in Chapter 6 Season 1 should not be ruled out. Since there are supposed to be three variants: Air, Water, and Basic, perhaps the time of day will affect which one of these types is spawned. Of course, this is based on mere speculation, but it would be intriguing to see these two mechanics overlap.
What could the Forest Biome look like?
The leak provides no insight into what the Forest Biome could look like. Our only clue is that it could be something similar to what was featured in Chapter 4 Season 2 (MEGA).
Since the theme is speculated to be related to the Samurai and Japanese mythology, the same type of flora could be present. You can expect to see quite a lot of bamboo.
With the Unreal Engine 5.4 in action, Epic Games is bound to spruce things up to bring the Forest Biome to life. That said, more Fortnite Chapter 6 leaks can be expected to appear online as Chapter 2 Remix slowly draws to an end.
