Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024): When will servers be back up?

The Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024) will begin shortly. This will be the last update (v30.40) before Chapter 5 Season 4 (v31.00) kicks off on August 16, 2024. As such, this will be the last downtime for Chapter 5 Season 3. As with other major downtimes, Epic Games will be taking the servers offline at 3:30 am Eastern Time.

The Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024) will officially commence 30 minutes later at 4 am Eastern Time (as is the norm).

If you're trying to reach level 200 in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, it is very likely that you will still be in-game and grinding out XP. Completing the Battle Pass to unlock rewards and V-Bucks is the ultimate goal before the current season ends.

For this reason, it would be best if you would stick to Creative or go out and explore new LEGO Fortnite seeds to level up. Unlike Battle Royale, you will neither lose progress in quests/challenges nor in-game standing if the servers go offline mid-game.

How long will the Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024) last and when will servers be back up?

Based on information provided by Epic Games, the Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024) is scheduled to last for five hours from 4 am to 9 am Eastern Time. Keep in mind that this is subject to change, given that this is the last update for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3.

Once the maintenance has ended, an official blog will be posted by Epic Games to let the community know about servers coming back online. The blog will also contain patch notes that may slightly differ from the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 v30.40 early patch notes.

Content changes for Fortnite update v30.40

With this being the final update for this phase of the Fortnite storyline, there is not much to expect. Epic Games will be saving upcoming features/mechanics and the bulk of new content for Chapter 5 Season 4. Thankfully, the update will not leave fans high and dry.

A couple of new things will be coming to LEGO Fortnite. The Battle Bus fast travel network will be the highlight of the update. Players will be able to move around their world's more freely. They will also be able to change their world settings and toggle certain things on and/or off as per their requirement.

There will also be new toys to tinker with (the Pirate Lifestyle Bundle will be added to the Fortnite Item Shop) and a few major improvements.

Moving on to Fortnite Battle Royale, the Fall Guys collaboration will be going live today. Players will be able to play as Beans and complete obstacles courses. This event should go live either immediately or soon after the Fortnite downtime today (August 6, 2024) comes to end.

Lastly, to get rumors out of the way, the collaboration with FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy's) will not take place, as the franchise will be officially collaborating with Dead By Daylight.
