Fortnite leaks all but confirm the return of Forecast Towers in Chapter 6

According to the latest Fortnite leaks, Forecast Towers may be returning in Chapter 6. The information was shared by leaker @blortzen and reshared by veteran leaker @ShiinaBR. Forecast Towers were introduced in Fortnite at the start of Chapter 4 Season 4. When used, the next Storm Circle would become visible to a player and their teammates, allowing them to rotate while knowing exactly where the next Safe Zone would be.

If used wisely, this would all but ensure an easier if not easy Victory Royale. Sadly, the feature was removed for Chapter 2 Remix. Since Forecast Towers were not present in the original Chapter 2, they do not fit the timeline. Thankfully, they may be back on the island soon enough.

That said, here is everything we know about the return of Forecast Towers in Fortnite.

Note: This article is based on leaks, and some parts are speculative. Hence, the information presented herein is subject to change and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Fortnite leaks predict six Forecast Towers for Chapter 6

As per the information datamined by @blortzen, there will be a total of six Forecast (Radio) Towers located on the Chapter 6 map. It would appear that Epic Games forgot to delete the coordinates and data layers while removing them for the current season.

The leaker has also been able to pinpoint the location of where these Forecast Towers will appear. Although the location has been traced on the current Chapter 2 Remix map (since the Chapter 6 map is still not in the files), it gives an idea of where to find them in the future.

That said, it is unclear how these Forecast Towers will function in Chapter 6. Given that the ability to see the next Storm Circle was rather useful, they may retain the same functionality. However, they could also merely be fixtures on the map.

But knowing Epic Games and how they function, the towers will most likely not be merely for show and can be expected to have some functionality. If not giving away the next Storm Circle, then perhaps revealing players in a certain radius could also be a fine utility to have.

More information regarding Forecast Towers could come to light as Chapter 2 Remix progresses. If nothing new is shared, there's no need to fret, as Chapter 6 Season 1 is roughly only 20 days away.

On an ending note, given that the upcoming theme is rumored to be centered around Samurai and Japanese mythology, the Forecast Towers could feature Japanese architecture, which would make for a cool aesthetic.
