Fortnite leaks state Chapter 6 Season 1 will have a Japanese mythology and Samurai theme
According to the latest Fortnite leaks, Chapter 6 Season 1 is slated to have a Japanese mythology and Samurai theme. The information was brought to light by leakers Loolo_WRLD and Wensoing. The duo have worked in collaboration to shed light on many details regarding Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix as well. Given their track record, this is more than just guesswork.
Veteran leaker ShiinaBR has also obtained information about Chapter 6 Season 1 being Japanese theme. This has been vouched for by HYPEX and iFireMonkey. As such, this is all but officially confirmed at this point.
In fact, earlier this year in April, rumors about a Japanese-themed season occurring in Chapter 1 started to appear. They were taken with a bit of skepticism, but due to leaked survey skins that appeared online, the notion seemed very plausible. Despite there being roughly a month before the next major phase of the storyline begins, we now have some information about what to expect in Chapter 6 Season 1.
Fortnite leaks shed light on upcoming biomes for Chapter 6 Season 1
iFireMonkey and Loolo_WRLD have confirmed that the upcoming map is codenamed "Hermes." They have identified that the map will have a Wetland associated with it. Additionally, Loolo_WRLD and Wensoing have discovered that other biomes present on the map will feature things such as Shrine, Rivers, Plains, Farmland, and Forest.
This sounds very familiar to the Chapter 4 Season 2 map when the Mega Season kicked off. However, if Chapter 6 Season 1 has a Japanese mythology and Samurai theme, POIs such as Mega City may be absent. A technopolis concrete jungle will not be the best fit. Instead, we might see more traditional architecture being employed for POIs.
As for the storyline, there is nothing to go on yet. The next phase of the storyline will be shaped depending on what happens during the Remix: The Finale Live Event. Given how the transition from Chapter 5 Season 4 to Chapter 2 Remix had no storyline integration, Epic Games may simply jump from one theme to another without any explanation provided.
That said, according to older Fortnite leaks, Chapter 6 Season 1 could feature floating islands. This is not too outlandish to imagine as Chapter 5 Season 4 featured a floating island that would Rift in during every match. For the time being, it's best to focus on Chapter 2 Remix and enjoy everything it has to offer, including the potential Juice WRLD concert. Chapter 6 Season 1 can wait a while longer.
