Fortnite leaks suggest cat-like animals will be releasing in Chapter 6 Season 1

According to the latest Fortnite leaks, cat-like animals named "Sprites" will be releasing in Chapter 6 Season 1. The information was brought to light by leakers Wensoing and Loolo_WRLD (and reshared by veteran leaker HYPEX as well). The duo have been busy this Season, chipping into the game files to find details regarding the next phase of the storyline.

Suffice it to say, this will not be the last of the leaks. With Chapter 2 Remix just getting started, more information will be divulged throughout the Season. Here is more on the topic at hand.

Fortnite leaks suggest felines could be present in Chapter 6 Season 1

Based on what we know thus far, "Sprites" will come in three types: Air, Water, and Basic. Each type could have their own unique quirk/ability, but it is far too soon to tell. They will have their own unique voicelines and expressions, which suggests they could be interactive in nature — something similar to modern NPCs that can be found in-game.

The upcoming "Shrines" feature also gets roped into this topic. As per the leaks, the "Sprites" are in a way tied to "Shrines" and say their goodbyes when near them. This could suggest that these feline creatures could be ghosts of some kind that are freed once they are near "Shrines".

With the next Season apparently to be themed around Samurais and Japanese mythology, these "Sprites" could take inspiration from Bakenekos or perhaps Nekomatas. With the possibility of there being a Boss Yūrei in Chapter 6 Season 1, ghostly cats could fit into the theme.

Based on tags found in the files by leakers, these "Sprites", as mentioned before, will likely have expressions. These will be varied, and here are some that have been discovered: Worried, Panicked, Excitement, Confused, Angry, Curious, Happy, and Purring.

That being said, it is unclear if they will be instrumental to the storyline or merely part of the Seasonal theme that will be in place. Given how the community is rather fond of cats, they would want this upcoming feature/mechanic to stay in-game quite possibly forever.

It would go extremely well with the latest Midas x Mewoscles Outfit called Meowdas. More information about these fascinating creatures will likely be revealed as Chapter 2 Remix progresses.
