Fortnite teases Chapter 5 Season 4 map; nothing yet revealed
Epic Games has released the first look at the map for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. The upcoming Marvel season, titled “Absolute Doom,” is set to be an exciting addition to the rather divisive Chapter 5, with both heroes and villains set to be featured in Chapter 5 Season 4. Official channels for the game have also shared an image of the updated map for Season 4.
However, while the teaser of the new map is exciting, it does not reveal much about the upcoming season. The map is largely covered by a green fog, presumably going along with the prominent role Doctor Doom is set to play during this phase. Despite the map being largely obscured, it is still possible to theorize what could be hiding behind the green fog.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 map updates could bring significant changes to the northern part of the map
In the image shared by Epic Games, Chapter 5 Season 4 appears to not have received many changes when it comes to locations. This means that POIs like Mount Olympus and Grim Gate seem to be largely untouched by the upcoming update. However, Epic Games hiding a section of it possibly suggests that the covered section will see some changes.
It was previously speculated that the north and northeastern parts of the Chapter 5 map would be perfect for new locations in Season 4 due to them being mostly unchanged since their introduction.
It seems like Epic Games thinks so too, as highlighted by X user and veteran leaker @Wensoing. The leaker pointed out how Lavish Lair, the POI located in the northernmost corner of the Chapter 5 map, will likely be replaced with a Doom Town POI.
Lavish Lair is one of the areas covered with green fog in the teaser. The slight silhouette that is visible is different from Lavish Lair’s usual layout, giving rise to these speculations. However, it also seems like the southwestern corner of the map will also receive a makeover in Chapter 5 Season 4. This could potentially be the Doom Castle POI that was previously hinted at in the Chapter 5 Season 4 trailer.
With all of these potential map changes and evolutions planned for the upcoming season, it’s clear that the developers are doing everything they can to hype up Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Absolute Doom before its release on August 16, 2024.
