The latest leaks suggest that Mephisto could be coming to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. This season of Absolute Doom has introduced a host of Marvel characters, ranging from villains like Doctor Doom and Mysterio to superheroes like Cyclops, Colossus, and more in an all-out war over the island.
The D23 event depicted a long roadmap with Fortnite so it comes as no surprise that more Marvel characters will make their way in-game. Here's a deep dive into the possibility of Mephisto's arrival to this season.
Leaks suggest Mephisto could be arriving during Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4
According to Fortnite leaks by legacy leaker and data miner @ShiinaBR who is known for leaks such as the Monsters Inc. collaboration, Mephisto could be making his way to the island.
Games files mined by the leaker suggest that Mephisto is being summoned by Doctor Doom in his tower at Doom Castle. This could spell major trouble for the island in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 and pose a serious threat to the superheroes who have assembled to take down Doom and his cronies.
Who is Mephisto
Mephisto is an extra-dimensional being in the Marvel universe and one of the most powerful villains in the universe. He rules over a dimension that he calls Hell and is known to repeatedly persecute humans by adopting the Faustian legend of Mephistopheles or the "Devil".
Mephisto aims to trap more humans and their astral forms to increase the size of his domain to reign terror over all mankind and submit to his will as their overlord. Mephisto's appearance in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 seems even more probable when considering his existing relationship with Doctor Doom.
How is Mephisto connected to Doctor Doom?
Mephisto has a direct connection to Doctor Doom and his family for a very long time. Doom's mother, Cynthia Von Doom faced constant persecution at the hands of the Baron and his men so she made a deal with Mephisto, promising him her soul in exchange for power.
Cynthia enters a village and kills all men but Mephisto's control over her makes her kill every woman and child, as he had desired. She tries to escape the clutches of the devil but she dies.
After Cynthia's death, her soul was trapped in Mephisto's realm for eternal torture. Doctor Doom is allowed to cast a spell and summon Mephisto once every year to fight him and try to win back his deceased mother's soul. He has been doing this for years but he loses the battle to him every time.
The supposed arrival of Mephisto could also hint at the possibility of Cynthia Vom Doom making an appearance in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. There is no official confirmation yet and players must wait for the season to progress to know more.
