“We’re so back”: Community reacts to Epic Games’ buildup for Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration
With the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration right around the corner, Epic Games has begun its buildup to this ambitious crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. The developers have begun including crayon drawings by Deadpool across social media on header photos and profile pictures. This is in keeping with the theme of Deadpool being able to break the fourth wall and players have definitely taken notice of the promotional strategy.
This is highlighted in a recent Reddit post shared by u/spimaster_, where the player showcased the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine takeover, sharing a screenshot of the game's X profile picture and header. The Reddit post became a hub of reactions from members of the community, many of whom are undoubtedly excited about the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration.
One such player was Redditor u/HenchOnReddit, who couldn't help but express their anticipation for the marketing strategy and the collaboration and stated:
“We’re so back”
Other members of the community had their own reactions to the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine takeover, with Redditor u/Blazingscourge expressing how the game's X header photo would make for a great Loading Screen in the Fortnite Item Shop. u/EMPEROROFMEMZ conveyed their excitement for the collaboration while acknowledging Deadpool's fourth-wall-breaking abilities.
Meanwhile, Redditor u/____person___ pointed to the previous Deadpool collaboration, where the character took over the Fortnite Item Shop in Chapter 2 Season 2 to showcase Deadpool-themed cosmetics. u/aquatubbie also recounted the Chapter 2 Season 2 Deadpool collaboration, joking about how they don't like Deadpool since he kicked Meowscles off his Yacht and left him alone in the Box Factory.
What will be included in the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration?
The Fortnite x Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration is set to include new skins for both of the titular characters, with the designs bearing a strong resemblance to their looks in the upcoming movie. The collaboration is set to bring not only these new skins but also a potential Ant-Man POI, similar to a location featured in the movie as seen by the trailers.
While there have been no reports about new Mythics, players can expect to see the Fortnite Deadpool & Wolverine skins in the Item Shop soon since the movie is close to release.
