With the Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration now live, players can enjoy the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails Pass, the brand new Event Pass that lets them get their hands on cosmetics themed around the beloved Disney franchise. While the new Pass is exciting, it has ignited a seemingly mixed response from the community, with players questioning the Pass content.

This is highlighted in a recent Reddit post shared by ClackTrak expressing their dissatisfaction at the inclusion of two separate Jack Sparrow Outfits in the Cursed Sails Pass rather than a simple edit style. They also brought up how Will Turner, a prominent character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, could've replaced one of the two Jack Sparrow Outfits.

Why is Fortnite getting lazy with their collab battle passes. It would be way better if Cursed Jack Sparrow was an edit style and replaced by Will Turner. Having 2 skins with a 'slight' difference does not require it to be a separate skin. I'm seeing a trend with Shredder and Aang in the past.

Other community members voiced their reactions to the Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass, with royalbeck pointing out a similar complaint they had with the Clone Trooper Outfits in the Star Wars Event Pass from 2023. Nicklikesplants pointed out how they would prefer if the Pass featured one skin with a Built-In Emote similar to Kado Thorne and Hades.

Meanwhile, kodo0820 highlighted how the Pass actually offers a more than fair deal, offering a vast variety of cosmetics and two skins for just 1000 V-Bucks. ShangRayzzz echoed these sentiments, expressing how the Jack Sparrow Outfit would probably cost 1500 V-Bucks if it were to come to the Fortnite Item Shop.

Here, you can access the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails Pass and upgrade to the Premium Reward Track. This will grant you instant access to the Jack Sparrow Outfit and the ability to earn all rewards in the Pass by earning Cursed Gold.
