Captain America’s Shield in Fortnite has been one of the most controversial items in Chapter 5 Season 4. Despite various adjustments, the community thinks the weapon isn't balanced enough for competitive matches and ruins the experience for many. However, a lot of players still love using it.
Redditor Ninethie shared a post showing a bug that cost them a match win. Captain America’s Shield in Fortnite is supposed to both attack the opponent and block their shots when you aim at them, but that's not what happened.
As observed, the user was in a 1v1 fight for the Victory Royale against a player in Battle Royale build mode. They decided to use the War Machine's Hover Jetpack to take high ground and attack the opponent from above using the Monarch Pistol. The player realized it was a bad idea and proceeded to use Captain America's Shield to block the opponent's bullets and land safely.
Interestingly, Captain America's Shield didn't work as intended, resulting in the player getting hit despite using the block action. The post gained hundreds of upvotes within the first few hours and many users commented, such as elddirriddle.
