Amit Sharma aka Desi Gamers makes history with an Indian representation at Free Fire World Cup 2024 in Riyadh

Amit Sharma, popularly known as Desi Gamers, has unlocked a monumental achievement for the Indian gaming community by representing the country at the Free Fire World Cup 2024. This prestigious event was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and only a few individuals were invited.

Desi Gamers, who is managed by OP Gaming (gaming vertical of OpraahFx) had a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent India at the 2024 Free Fire World Cup where they came across Nobru, one of the most revered Free Fire players from South America. Nobru is a Brazillian Free Fire professional who shared a lot of experience with our very own Desi Gamers.

Desi said the following to express his emotions:

"Participating in the Free Fire Esports World Cup 2024 was a truly incredible experience. We definitely need to emphasize the importance of providing more opportunities for the Indian esports community to shine on the global stage. Meeting Nobru and the other top players was a dream come true. It was inspiring and has motivated me to push my limits even further. I am honored to represent India on such a prestigious platform and to help bring more recognition to our thriving gaming community."

Desi Gamers is very influential when it comes to the Indian Free Fire community. His exceptional prowess displayed at Free Fire World Cup 2024 went on to emphasize the need for more such events.

He stated that meeting with Nobru was a "dream come true" and that more such tournaments would allow Indian players like him to interact with players of Nobru's caliber. This would greatly enhance the skillset of Indian players and they would be able to perform better on the global stage.

However, even though Free Fire World Cup 2024 recognized India as a potential contender, the game is still banned in the country under Section 69A of the IT Act, 2000. Garena has been trying tirelessly to meet the regulatory standards and legal demands of the Indian government. If Free Fire gets relaunched in the market, we feel that a lot of players will return to the game.

Especially after today's historic event at Free Fire World Cup 2024, we feel that even more young and talented individuals will aspire to become like Desi Gamers and represent the country on a global level.
