Latest Intel leak suggests Arrow Lake gaming CPUs will release soon

Codenamed Arrow Lake, Intel's latest 15th-gen CPUs were supposed to be released by the end of this year. However, new leaks suggest this could happen in October 2024, which is much earlier than what we expected. The Arrow Lake processors are set to bring some decent performance improvements along with a new LGA1851 socket, which will be revealed alongside the processors.

In this article, we will explain the Arrow Lake leaks in detail and what to possibly expect from the new chips.

Note: This article is based on leaks, so take the information with a pinch of salt.

An X leaker, @wxnod, has reported that the Intel Z890 motherboard, part of Intel 800 series chipsets, will be announced on October 10, 2024. This suggests that the CPU would be revealed on the same date, as announcing the motherboard before it doesn't make sense.

@wxnod has correctly leaked the Raptor Lake-HX mobile processors, which gives weight to this leak. However, one should still take the information with a grain of salt. This leak is also corroborated by VideoCardz, which listed the same date for the reveal of Arrow Lake processors.

According to VideoCardz, the new 15th-gen Intel chips will be officially announced on October 10, 2024, and there will be a pre-launch press briefing with Robert Hallow, Senior Director of Technical Marketing, and Roger Chandler.

The pre-launch press briefing is to provide the press with the materials needed to get them up to speed about the features and launch of the new Arrow Lake CPUs. However, the actual sales won't begin until October 24, 2024, which is also when the third-party reviews of the new processors will published online.

What to expect from the launch of the Intel Arrow Lake CPUs

The Arrow Lake CPUs are expected to come with decent performance improvements. It is also launching on a new Intel LGA1851 socket, which is not backward compatible with previous 14th and 13th-gen chips.

If we go by Intel's previous launch pattern, Intel will launch only the K variant of the Arrow Lake processors, which are higher powered and have an unlocked multiplier for overclocking. This is usually followed by the launch of non-K and 65W variants during the CES 2025 event.

The same holds for the LGA1851 motherboards with Intel 800 series chipsets. Only the motherboards with the flagship Z890 chipset will be revealed at the October 10 event this year.

The mid-range B860 and cheaper H810 will be announced at the CES 2025 event. Intel's partners also showcased the Z890 motherboards at the Computex 2024 event. That said, stay tuned for more reports on Intel Arrow Lake and its 800 series motherboards.
