PlayStation 5 Pro full specs leaked online ahead of launch

We can now take a good look at the specs of the PlayStation 5 Pro console ahead of its November 7 launch. These leaks come from @videotechuk_ on X who claims the picture is from customers who got their devices early in some foreign markets. With the detailed system specifications now leaked, we can make some theoretical estimates on how much better the gaming performance will be.

Although @videotechuk_ isn't particularly big in gaming hardware leaks — they specialize in Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive — the page has been quite reliable with the information they release. They have a wide following base and are revered by Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption fans. Despite their rapport, we suggest you take the latest info about the Sony console with a grain of salt.

The leak contains a photograph from the PlayStation 5 Pro packaging. Let's dive into the details of what's listed.

The leaked image of the PlayStation 5 Pro specs is in Portuguese. We used Google Lens to translate the specs list into English. Here's the detailed list:

  • Main processor: Custom single-chip processor CPU, CPU: x86-64 AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8 cores/16 threads, GPU: AMD RDNA graphics engine, 16.7 TFLOPS
  • Memory: GDDR6 16 GB, DDR5 2 GB
  • Storage: Custom 2 TB SSD
  • Input/Output: USB Type-A port (SuperSpeed USB - 10 Gbps) x2, USB Type-C port (Hi-speed USB), USB Type-C port (SuperSpeed USB - 10 Gbps), M.2 SSD expansion connector (Key M), Hard Drive port disk
  • Network: Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T), IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, Bluetooth 5.1
  • AV output: HDMI out port
  • Power requirements: 100-240V ~4.2-1.7A, 50/60 Hz
  • Maximum rated power: 320W
  • External dimensions: Approx. 388 x 89 x 216 mm (width x height x depth)
  • Weight: Approx. 3.1 kg
  • Operating temperature: 5°C to 35°C

Overall, these leaked specs are in line with what we had speculated in our leaks article. The Zen 2 CPU is a missed opportunity, however. While gaming PCs already have received the much more capable Zen 5 chips with the Ryzen 9000 lineup, sticking to the same eight-core and three-generation-old processor with the PS5 Pro isn't quite ideal. Besides missing out on the improved single-core performance metrics of the newer processors, the older chip would also not have better efficiency.

However, the main update with the PlayStation 5 Pro is the graphics rendering prowess. The console will now be powered by a GPU with 16.7 TFLOPS of theoretical performance. This is a considerable upgrade from the PS5's 10 TFLOPS graphics processor. How this upgrade translates to a better 4K gaming experience remains to be seen.

Other than this, the console will reportedly also receive an upgrade in the total memory — 18 GB instead of the combined 16 GB on the older console. At 390W rated maximum TDP, is also getting more power-hungry.

The remainder of the details have already been confirmed by Sony, like the 2 TB SSD and the improved I/O. For the bottom line, the new PlayStation 5 Pro is shaping up to be a 4K gaming powerhouse but could only make sense to those looking for higher framerates.
