About Delray Beach Open 2023

The Delray Beach Open is a hard-court tournament which is held in Delray Beach, Florida. It started as a clay-court tournament in 1993 but became a hard-court event from 2000 onwards.

The Delray Beach Open received its current name in 2017 after undergoing a number of name changes over the years. It was previously known as America’s Red Clay Tennis Championships, International Tennis Championships, Citrix Tennis Championships and Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

Todd Martin won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 1993 by beating compatriot David Wheaton in the final. Other champions include Lleyton Hewitt, Marin Cilic and Mardy Fish.

Cameron Norrie won the men’s singles title at last year’s Delray Beach Open by beating Reilly Opelka in the final. Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer were the men’s doubles champions by defeating Aleksandr Nedovyesov and Aisam Ul-Haq Qureshi in the final.

The Brit won’t be defending his title this year, instead opting to play in the Argentina Open. However, there are some well-known players competing at the 2023 Delray Beach Open, including Taylor Fritz, Australian Open semifinalist Tommy Paul and Denis Shapovalov.

Date and Venue

The Delray Beach Open was held in Coral Springs, Florida from 1993-1998 before shifting to Delray Beach. This year’s tournament will be held from February 13-19, with the venue being the Delray Beach Tennis Center which has a capacity of 8200 spectators.
