MCC University Matches 2020

The Marylebone Cricket Club University Matches are set to start from the 2nd of April 2020, The MCC University matches 2020 will be played between the Marylebone Cricket Club University teams and the eighteen county championship teams. This tournament will also be the last one to have a first class status.

The first 2 rounds of fixtures, will be first class matches. Each county side will play a match against an MCCU side. The tournament has been organised by the England and Wales Cricket board, this tournament would see the last first class matches in english Cricket and could possibly be the tournaments which catapults many new talents towards International success.

The matches will be played in a 3-day format, and will be played all over England from Leeds to Northwood and Bristol. The MCCU was formed so the young players could get top level equipment and training.

The MCC university matches would be a great opportunity for the players to showcase their talents and gain experience.

Squads

The teams have not yet announced their squads for the English MCC University matches, but many of the first team regulars are going to be a part of the tournament, many International England present and past players are also going to be a part of the tournament so as to increase visibility of the tournament.

The tournament will conclude on the 14th of April 2020 and with that first class matches in England will also end.
