Monterrey Open, also popularly known as Abierto GNP Seguros, is a WTA 500 tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It will commence on August 19, 2024, and conclude on August 24, 2024. The event was recently updated from WTA 250 to WTA 500.

This is the 16th edition of the tournament, comprising 32 players from the singles category and 16 teams from the doubles category. Tennis players like Ana Ivanovic, Angelique Kerber, Victoria Azarenka and Venus Williams have competed on the courts of the Monterrey Open. The total prize money set for the tournament this year is $259,303. Each winner will be awarded 500 points in the singles and doubles category after winning the title.

Silver medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Donna Vekic, will be competing to retain her title at the tournament. Finalist at the 2024 French and Wimbledon Open, Jasmine Paolini, will also be participating in this famous tournament in Latin America. The WTA introduced the Monterrey Open in 2009. Famous Polish player Agnieszka Radwanska played the first edition of the tournament with Marion Bartoli. The tournament was initially played at the Sierra Madre Tennis Club from 2009 to 2013. With the increase in the size of the audience, the tournament was shifted to Sonoma Cub in 2014.

Donna Vekic is the defending champion of the 2023 Monterrey Open in the singles category. In the doubles category, Yuliana Lizarazo and Maria Paulina are the defending champions.
