About Pakistan vs West Indies
The West Indies team will tour Pakistan from 1 April 2018 to 3 April 2018. The series comprises of 3 T20Is, one each on 1 April, 2 April and 3 April. All the three matches will be played on the National Stadium in Karachi.
Karachi last hosted an international game on 21 February 2009 which is more than nine years ago. The whole of Karachi was excited to witness their number one T20I side take on the boys from the Caribbean who can surprise the world with their T20 skills.
Previously, Pakistan and West Indies have faced each other in a T20I game 11 times. The current hosts have an 8-3 lead over the visitors. With the Karachi pitch expected to be a belter, Pakistan’s advantage of a strong bowling line-up may be neutralised. Their batting order boasts of clean hitters of the ball like Fakhar Zaman, Sarfaraz Khan and Shoaib Malik; and the class of their in-form batter and top run-getter in the last 15 months, Babar Azam.
For the West Indies, the top-3 batsmen have to fire as they have only one experienced batsman in the form of Denesh Ramdin in their last 8. Marlon Samuels has been playing for a very long time and can be their mainstay in the T20I format. As their bowling does not have the weight, the series may well be decided by how the Carribeans bat.
This series is an advertisement for cricket in Pakistan and it will help the country to resume international ties in all parts. The West Indies team has shown the way to the world and one can hope that cricket begins normally in the terror-struck country again.
