About Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2021
The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier is a cricket tournament being played in United Arab Emirates in November 2021. The matches are being played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament. Bhutan and Myanmar were originally scheduled to make their debuts at an ICC women's event.
Originally scheduled to take place in September 2021, the tournament was postponed in May 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2021
All teams will play against each other once. There will be a total of 15 matches, excluding the knockout matches and the final match. The matches are being played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament. In the qualifying tournament scheduled to happen in 2022, teams from various parts of the world will compete against each other to secure a spot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2023, which will be hosted by South Africa.
There will be three matches daily. The matches will follow the T20 format. Each team will play 20 overs each, and the team with the most number of runs will win.
Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2021 Venues
As mentioned above, United Arab Emirates will play all their matches at their home ground. All the 15 matches of the competition will happen at the ICC Academy Ground and ICC Academy Ground 2 in Dubai.
