About 2018 World Wrestling Championships
The World Wrestling Championships is an annual tournament of Amateur Wrestling held since the year 2005. The tournament was introduced to replace the three different tournaments that took place every other year, with each tournament focusing on one event of wrestling. The combined World Wrestling Championships include all the three formats of the game – men’s free style, women’s freestyle and the Greco-Roman.
The 2018 World Wrestling Championships are the 15th edition of the tournament taking place in the Hungarian capital Budapest. The tournament will take place from 20th to 28th October, 2018 at the Budapest Sports Arena.
World Wrestling Championships Events
Wrestlers from all over the world will participate in the week long tournament where 30 gold medals will be awarded in various categories of events. The men’s freestyle event will have 10 different weight categories ranging from 57 kg upto 125 kg. Similarly, in women’s freestyle, weight categories from 50 kg to 76 kg will have another 10 gold medals.
In the Greco-Roman style of wrestling, 10 gold medals will be up for grabs in the the weight categories of 55 kg to 130 kg.
