5 big-name LPGA golfers eyeing their first Major championship title at the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship ft. Charley Hull

After the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, the LPGA Tour is gearing up for the next Major - the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship. This year's edition of the Major will begin on July 11 and conclude on July 14. The tournament will be played at the famous Evian Resort Golf Club in France.

Celine Boutier won the Amundi Evian Championship last year after carding a score of 14-under to beat Canadian Brooke Henderson who finished in second place. This victory was Boutier's first Major win, and like her, several LPGA professionals will look to win their first Major in the 2024 edition of the tournament.

In this article, we will look at five players who will be eyeing their first Major at the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship:

#5. Rose Zhang will look to win his first Major at the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship

Rose Zhang has achieved a lot in her golf career. However, the one accolade she has yet to win is a Major. At the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship, Zhang will look to do exactly that. She comes into the tournament after finishing T35 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship this year.

Zhang has experienced mixed results this season. While she managed to win the Cognizant Founders Cup in May, she missed the cut at the US Women's Open and the Chevron Championship.

#4. Xiyu Lin

Chinese professional golfer Xiyu Lin is yet to find success in Majors. Having played her first Major in 2011 (the U.S. Women's Open), Lin has played in 45 events and has made the cut 27 times. Her best finish in a Major championship came at the 2023 Women's PGA Championship where she finished T3.

Lin will look to win her first Major when she steps on the course to play in the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship. She heads into the tournament after finishing T30 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and missing the cut at the recently concluded Dow Championship.

#3. Megan Khang

Last year, Megan Khang came into the spotlight when she won the 2023 CPKC Women's Championship. Since this victory, Khang has yet to win on the LPGA Tour.

At the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship, Khang will look to win both her first Major and her first event this season.

The only setback she will be dealing with is making a comeback from her last outing. Khang missed the cut at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship after scoring 81-76 in the first two rounds.

#2. Maja Stark

The Amundi Evian Championship has not been the best tournament for one-time LPGA Tour winner Maja Stark. Stark has played at this event on two occasions and failed to make the cut both times. This is one strong reason why she will look to make a mark in the upcoming edition of the Major.

Maja Stark has registered some good results this season as she finished in second place at The Chevron Championship and the JM Eagle LA Championship. The only big concern would be her missing the cut at the US Women's Open and finishing T60 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

#1. Charley Hull

Since 2012, Charley Hull has come close to winning a Major championship on multiple occasions. She finished T3 at the 2022 Amundi Evian Championship, T2 at the 2023 U.S. Women's Open, and solo second at the 2023 Women's British Open.

Unfortunately, though, she was never able to convert her good starts into great finishes. At the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship, Hull will look to finally win her first Major title.

While Hull has not registered a win this season, she has managed to finish in the top 20 in her last three tournaments. Her best performance this season came at the Dow Championship where she finished T5.
