5 LIV Golfers to watch at the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship ft. Jon Rahm
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is a DP World Tour event that will run in the same timeline as the Sanderson Farms Championship, presented by the PGA Tour. The event will take place from October 3 to 6 at the three historic courses, St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns.
Around 14 LIV golfers will participate in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Here's a look at the top five LIV golfers to watch at the DP World Tour event this week.
Five top LIV Golfers at the DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
#1 Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm is supposed to play four DP World Tour events this year to remain eligible for the 2025 Ryder Cup. He already played at the Open de Espana, where he lost the title to Angel Hidalgo in a playoff. Following that, his next stop will be the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The LIV golfer is in great form, having won two LIV Golf events including LIV Golf United Kingdom and LIV Golf Chicago. Besides that, he had top-10 finishes in all the 12 LIV events he participated in. He also secured fifth place at the 2024 Olympics with 15-under 269 and stood at T7 after The Open Championship with 1-under 283.
#2 Tyrrell Hatton
The Legion XIII member Tyrrell Hatton will join the Legion XIII skipper Rahm at the DP World Tour event in hopes of being eligible for the 2025 Ryder Cup. The golfer played in three of the four DP World Tour events needed to become eligible. He played at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and settled at T31. Next, he played at the Betfred British Masters and the Open de Espana, to finish at T18 and T10, respectively.
The LIV golfer won LIV Golf Nashville with 19-under 194 and had eight top-ten finishes on the LIV roster.
#3 Brooks Koepka
Brooks Koepka will be playing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and as the golfer got the opportunity, he shared how fortunate he felt on the tournament’s official site.
“I’ve been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links… The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic. I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another… I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favourite course in the world… could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it,” Koepka said.
Koepka is on a great run and won two LIV events, including the LIV Golf Singapore and LIV Golf Greenbrier.
#4 David Puig
David Puig is making his debut appearance at the Alfred Dunhill Links after playing at the Open de Espana last week. He tied for the third place at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Besides that, he had one top-10 finish in the Saudi-backed league, a T3 at LIV Golf Houston.
#5 Patrick Reed
Patrick Reed played at the Italian Open, the BMW International Open, and the Open de Espana in the DP World Tour to finish at T29, T13 and T10, respectively. His fourth DP World Tour event will be the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
