Caroline Wozniacki behind Rory McIlroy's poor form: Gary Player
South African legend Gary Player has blamed Caroline Wozniacki for the poor form of Rory McIlroy. Player even went on to suggest that the golfer should ditch his girlfriend and ‘find the right wife’.
Speaking to TalkSport Radio, the nine-time Major winner said: “Love is still the greatest thing that ever happens in our lives. But the thing is for a man like Rory with talent galore, he’s got to make sure he has a woman like I’ve got, who has been married [to me] for 56 years, that has only encouraged me to do well and made sacrifices.
“He’s got to be intelligent and find the right wife. If he finds the right wife, if he practises and if he’s dedicated, he could be the man.”
McIlroy, who has not won any tournament so far this season, has been going through a poor run of form.
His performance in the recently concluded Open Championship at Muirfield disappointed his fans.
McIlroy was also criticised by Nick Faldo for not concentrating on golf.
McIlroy, reportedly, has been skipping practice and tournaments to spend time with his tennis star girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, who is a former world number one in her sport as well.
