Day: Fowler missed meeting because he was busy with his beautiful girlfriend
Former world number one Jason Day wanted to call a team meeting with Rickie Fowler - his partner for this week's Zurich Classic - but there was one problem.
American and four-time PGA Tour winner Fowler did not show up.
"He was busy with his beautiful girlfriend, which is understandable," Day told reporters.
Fowler, who was present for the interview, quickly pulled his hat over his face in embarrassment.
Many had been following Fowler's lack of a love life since he was infamously the only one on the United States' Ryder Cup team without a significant other to kiss during a photo shoot.
His new girlfriend is Allison Stokke, a former pole-vaulter and fitness model. They even have pictures together.
We tied?
Fowler made sure to mention that his caddie was present for the meeting with Day.
Day went on to say that Fowler's philosophy is pretty laid back, and he is certain the two will click this week.
"The preparation for us is different," Day said. "I come in and I practice. Rickie does his thing to make him feel ready, and it's worked for him this year. He's played tremendous golf, and I'm very, very happy to have him as a team-mate, and he's going to be a great attribute to our team because of how good a player he is."
