Did LIV golfers get world ranking points from PGA Championship? OWGR explored
The 2024 PGA Championship at The Valhalla Golf Club came to an end on Sunday, May 19. American golfer Xander Schauffele won the competition after four rounds and walked home with prize money of $3,330,000. However, there were many more interesting aspects of the tournament apart from this.
One such thing was several LIV golfers competing at the PGA Championship. After the tournament's conclusion, many fans wondered whether they got world-ranking points. The answer to this question is yes.
One of the best examples of the same is Bryson DeChambeau. After the conclusion of the event, DeChambeau, who finished in second place, moved up to 35th place as per the Official World Golf Rankings. Like DeChambeau, several other LIV golfers with good performances got points.

While this is good news for the players from the Saudi-backed league, DeChambeau was the only LIV golfer who was able to secure a top-10 finish at the 2024 PGA Championship.
LIV Golfer Bryson DeChambeau jokes about new personal record at the 2024 PGA Championship
Bryson DeChambeau had a pretty eventful outing at The Valhalla Golf Club. Before the event at The Valhalla Golf Club, DeChambeau finished T6 at the 2024 Masters. Hence, a second-place finish on Sunday was an extremely good result for the American.
However, while DeChambeau achieved this place, he also joked about a unique record he set at the 2024 PGA Championship. During the event, DeChambeau was spotted fist-pumping a lot. The LIV Golfer spoke about the same in an X (formerly Twitter) post.
The 30-year-old professional golfer wrote:
"I think I set a new personal record for amount of fist pumps in one week."

It seems Bryson DeChambeau is in high spirits, as he must be. Until now, the 2024 season has been well for the golfer. On the PGA Tour, DeChambeau achieved 1 top 10 and 1 top 5 finish in two Majors which highly speaks about the quality he possesses as a golfer.
Apart from this, the LIV Tour has also been treating him well. While he is yet to achieve a victory on the Saudi-backed tour, he has managed to achieve three top 10 and one top 5 finish in the seven events he has played in. Hence, it will be very interesting to observe how he does when he plays next time.
