Dustin Johnson makes solid start on return from injury
World number one Dustin Johnson made an encouraging return from injury at the Wells Fargo Championship, carding a two-under 70 in his opening round.
Johnson is back in action this week for the first time since he was forced to dramatically withdraw from the Masters after slipping down stairs in his rental home at Augusta and injuring his back.
Prior to that mishap, the American had won three tournaments in succession on the PGA Tour - including back-to-back World Golf Championship events.
And there were no initial signs of rust from Johnson following his five-week absence from competitive action, as he turned in 33 on Thursday having hit every green in regulation on the back nine after starting from the 10th.

Johnson finally missed his first green of the day on the second, his 11th hole, and duly made bogey, but that shot was recovered on the par-four seventh.
A rare wayward drive saw Johnson finish with a dropped shot, but he could still be largely content with a solid day's work.
At two under, Johnson was three off the early lead held by Sweden's Alex Noren and Francesco Molinari of Italy.
