Dustin Johnson pulls out of Shell Houston Open
World number one Dustin Johnson has pulled out of the Shell Houston Open, the final PGA Tour event before the Masters next week.
Johnson emerged victorious in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on Sunday, beating rising star Jon Rahm 1up in the final.
The American had indicated he would play in Humble this week, saying after his victory at the weekend: "As of right now I'm planning on being there."
But the U.S. Open champion will now have the chance to rest ahead of his bid to claim his first Masters title at Augusta, where he finished tied-fourth in 2016.
The likes of Jordan Spieth, Henrik Stenson and Adam Scott will all feature at the Golf Club of Houston in the last tune-up before the first major of the year.
