How much has Olympic gold medallist Lydia Ko earned so far in 2024? Exploring the golfer's earnings

Lydia Ko, a professional golfer from New Zealand, is enjoying an extremely successful 2024 season. Prior to this year, she had accumulated 19 professional victories. However, this year, the New Zealand-born golfer has won three events, bringing her total LPGA Tour wins to 22 and her overall professional win count to 30.

Her victories on the LPGA Tour this season came at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, AIG Women's Open, and Kroger Queen City Championship. While Ko earned a substantial amount for these victories, her total earnings on the LPGA Tour this year amounted to $2,559,946.

Ko's largest earnings on the Tour came from the events she won. At the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, Lydia Ko earned $225,000, whereas she earned $1,425,000 and $300,000 for her victories at the AIG Women's Open and the Kroger Queen City Championship, respectively.

Apart from her wins on the LPGA Tour, the 27-year-old also made New Zealand proud by winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. The Olympics, though, do not offer cash prizes for medal wins. However, countries often provide incentives to their athletes, and reports suggest New Zealand awards gold medalists a sum of $36,118.
