Molinari's Monday motivation: Absolutely never ever give up!

Edoardo Molinari celebrates winning the Trophee Hassan II

Edoardo Molinari delivered an inspirational message highlighting the need to "never ever give up" on Monday, after claiming his first European Tour title in seven years at the Trophee Hassan II.

Two victories in 2010 helped Molinari earn a place on Europe's Ryder Cup team alongside brother Francesco, but a significant decline in fortunes followed amid injury troubles and a loss of form.

Molinari was forced to regain his European Tour card at Qualifying School after underwhelming campaigns in 2015 and 2016.

Yet the Italian had reason to celebrate on Sunday as he beat Paul Dunne in a play-off in Rabat, after finishing regulation play in style with a birdie on 17 and an eagle at the last.

Clearly thrilled with his victory, Molinari took to Instagram to catalogue the challenges he has overcome in recent years.

Alongside a picture that showed him holding the knife awarded to the Trophee Hassan II champion, Molinari wrote: "When you don't give up when you get injured...when you don't give up when you get injured again...when you don't give up when you play poorly...when you don't give up when things don't go your way...when you don't give up when you can't keep the ball in play off the tee for more than two years...when you don't give up when you spend eight hours a day on a driving range and you end the day hitting the ball worse than when you started the day...when you don't give up when it seems like you lost all your skills that used to make you a good player...when you don't give up when you are three shots behind with two holes to go...when you ABSOLUTELY NEVER EVER GIVE UP, then this happens!!!"

Well said, Edoardo!
