“That was a moment to not forget” – Bryson DeChambeau says Crushers GC’s 2023 LIV Team Championship win is part of golf history
LIV Golf's Bryson DeChambeau recently said that the Crushers GC's victory in last year's Team Championship was a significant moment in golf history and that, in a few decades, people would look back on it as unforgettable. He added that defending the title this year would mean everything to his team.
Bryson DeChambeau has won three times on the LIV Golf circuit and is also the captain of the defending team champion, Crushers GC. Last year, they won the Team Championship in Miami by beating Bubba Watson's Range Goats GC by two strokes.
Reflecting on the Crushers' win, DeChambeau termed it a part of history.
"LIV has a short history, but again, history is where you make it," he said as per Flushing it. "We personally feel like we were a part of that, and come 30, 40 years down the line, people are going to look back on that and go, wow, that was a moment. That was a moment to not forget.
"I think that's what people do forget is that it does take time for things to develop and cement themselves in history, and we feel like we were a massive part of it, so to do it again and do it here in Maridoe would be quite special and in my hometown," he added.
This year's Team Championship is set to take place from September 20 to 22 at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas. As the 2024 Team Championship approaches, Bryson DeChambeau and his teammates are motivated to defend the title.
"It would mean everything," he added. "This is why we as the Crushers play out here, not only to win individual LIV titles and win majors when we're able to play in them, but also to win a team championship."
