2024 Amundi Evian Championship weather update: When will play resume on Saturday?
The second round of The Amundi Evian Championship was called off early due to inclement weather. Due to storms in the area, Evian-Les-Bains was vacated at 4:23 local time before officially suspending the day's play at 6:09 pm local time.
As per the official announcement, the rest of the round will resume on Saturday, July 13, at 7:30 am local time. The practice facility will be open at 5:30 am. The second round will resume at 10:45 am local time. As of now, a total of 66 players have yet to complete their second round. Notably, only the top 65 and ties will make it to the third round.
The weather conditions on Saturday are expected to be slightly better at Evian-Les-Bains. Showers are expected in the morning, while the sky will be covered with clouds throughout the day, with sunlight in patches.
According to AccuWeather, the temperature is expected to go as high as 70°F. Northwest winds with a speed of 7 km/h will blow with gusts of 22 km/h. The probability of rain and thunderstorms is almost 65 and 13 percent, respectively.
The updated TV schedule of the Amundi Evian Championship explored
The TV schedule for the Amundi Evian Championship has also been updated due to the weather. The Golf Channel will telecast the tournament from 6 am ET to 10 am ET. CNBC will take over the broadcast from 10 am ET until the end of the day's play. Peacock will also stream the event from 6 am ET to 12 pm ET.
As of now, Ayaka Furue of Japan is leading the championship by three strokes. She was through 13 holes on Friday and was 6-under for the day. Stephanie Kyriacou and Hae Ran Ryu are tied for second at 9-under. While Kyriacou has two holes remaining in the second round, Ryu is through 11 holes.
